Prediction Model for Construction Cost and Duration in Jordan

چکیده
Risk is mitigated in the course of reliable prediction. A probabilistic model is proposed to predict the risk effects on time and cost of construction projects. Project managers and consultants can use the model in estimating project cost and duration based on historic data. Statistical regression models and sample tests are developed using real data of 140 projects. The research objective is to develop a model to predict project cost and duration based on historic data of similar projects. The model result can be used by project managers in the planning phase to validate the schedule critical path time and project budget. Research methodology is steered per the following progression: i) Conduct nonparametric test for project cost and time performance. ii) Develop generic multiple-regression models to predict project cost and duration using historic performance data. iii) The percent prediction error is statistically analyzed; and found to be substantial; thus, iv) Custom multiple regression models are developed for each project type to obtain statistically reliable results. In conclusion, the 95% point estimation of error margin= ±0.035%. Therefore, at a probability of 95%, the proposed model predicts the project cost and duration with a precision of ±0.035% of the

Due to the complexity of air pollution action, artificial intelligence models specifically, neural networks are utilized to simulate air pollution. So far, numerous artificial neural network models have been used to estimate the concentration of atmospheric PMs. These models have had different accuracies that scholars are constantly exceed their efficiency using numerous parameters. The current...
متن کاملTime Prediction Using a Neuro-Fuzzy Model for Projects in the Construction Industry
This paper presents a prediction model based on a new neuro-fuzzy algorithm for estimating time in construction projects. The output of the proposed prediction model, which is employed based on a locally linear neuro-fuzzy (LLNF) model, is useful for assessing a project status at different time horizons. Being trained by a locally linear model tree (LOLIMOT) learning algorithm, the model is int...
متن کاملTown trip forecasting based on data mining techniques
In this paper, a data mining approach is proposed for duration prediction of the town trips (travel time) in New York City. In this regard, at first, two novel approaches, including a mathematical and a statistical approach, are proposed for grouping categorical variables with a huge number of levels. The proposed approaches work based on the cost matrix generated by repetitive post-hoc tests f...
متن کاملProviding a Model for Cost Estimation of Hospital Information System Software Design Using Continuous Decision Tree Algorithm
Introduction: The cost estimation of a hospital information system software refers to estimating the cost and time required to develop the hospital information system software prior to the start of the project, which will continue until the end of production and development of the system. Estimating the cost of software to produce hospital information system is one of the major concerns of proj...
